In the Outer South-East Region, there were 7,644 occupied private dwellings being rented in 2001.

Low rents of less than $100 a week applied to 857 dwellings (11.2% of dwellings) in the Outer South-East Region. Mount Gravatt had the largest proportion of low rents (36.2%) and there were no dwellings in this category in Stretton-Karawatha.
-
High rents of $400 a week or more applied to 88 dwellings (1.2% of all rental dwellings) in the Outer South-East Region. Rochedale had the largest proportion (11.8%) and there were no dwellings with high rents in Upper Mount Gravatt.
