People per dwelling

  • The average number of people per dwelling in the Outer South-East Region in 2001 was 2.7.

  • On average in the Outer South-East Region, 2.9 people lived in each separate house, 2.3 people lived in each townhouse, 1.6 people lived in each unit, and 1.7 people lived in each caravan, cabin or houseboat.

  • Occupancy rates for separate houses in the Outer South-East Region ranged from a high of 3.5 people per dwelling in Stretton-Karawatha to a low of 2.5 people per dwelling in Upper Mount Gravatt.

  • Townhouse occupancy rates in the Outer South-East Region ranged from 2.7 in MacGregor to 1.0 in Rochedale. Unit occupancy rates ranged from 2.5 in Runcorn to 1.2 in Eight Mile Plains.

  • Only four SLAs (Eight Mile Plains, Rochedale, Stretton-Karawatha and Upper Mount Gravatt) recorded any caravans, cabins or houseboats.
