Mortgage

  • Of the 6,959 occupied private dwellings being purchased in the Outer South-East Region in 2001, 36.1% had repayments of between $800 and $1,199 a month. Mount Gravatt (43.4%) had the highest proportion of repayments in this range, while Rochedale (20.0%) had the lowest proportion.

  • Low repayments of less than $400 a month applied to 426 dwellings (6.1% of dwellings being purchased) in the Outer South-East Region. Mount Gravatt had the largest proportion of low repayments (10.8%) but there were no dwellings with low repayments in Rochedale.

  • High repayments of $2,000 a month or more applied to 398 dwellings (5.7% of dwellings being purchased) in the Outer South-East Region. Rochedale had a very large proportion of dwellings with high repayments (35.6%) compared to other SLAs in the Outer South-East Region.
